Our Location

Le Logis de l'Épinière lies in the countryside at Les Nouillers, between Saintes, Rochefort and Saint-Jean-d'Angély. We are just 10 km from the Saint-Jean-d'Angély exit of the A10 motorway, making the Logis easy to reach while feeling a world away as soon as you arrive.

Its location is one of the things we particularly appreciate about the Logis. Saint-Savinien and the banks of the Charente are close by, while Saintes, Rochefort, the Atlantic beaches, La Rochelle, the Marais Poitevin and the islands offer somewhere different to explore each day.

And there is no need to travel far. Around the Logis, the Boutonne marshes, country paths, villages and quiet lanes offer plenty to discover on foot, by bicycle, or simply by taking your time.

The Logis is set in the countryside. A car is essential for reaching shops, restaurants, villages and beaches, and for making the most of everything the region has to offer.

Logis de l'Épinière is located in Les Nouillers, in Charente-Maritime, in the heart of Romanesque Saintonge.

Getting Around & Exploring

Around the Logis, quiet country lanes and paths make it easy to explore the surrounding countryside on foot or by bicycle. The landscape is gently rolling, and the Boutonne marshes, nearby villages and banks of the Charente offer plenty of opportunities for walks and rides.

When you arrive, we can also show you on the map some of the routes and places we particularly enjoy.

Ideas for Days Out

Le Logis de l'Épinière is ideally placed for days out without spending hours on the road, in a region shaped by water, old stone and wide-open landscapes.

Close by, the villages of Saint-Savinien, Taillebourg and Port-d'Envaux are lovely places for a leisurely walk along the Charente, with their riverside quays, historic buildings and waterside terraces. They are perfect for discovering the area at an unhurried pace.

Saintes, Rochefort and La Rochelle offer plenty to explore, from Roman remains and remarkable architecture to museums, as well as a wide choice of places to eat.

Less than an hour away, the Marais Poitevin reveals a completely different side of the region. Known as the “Green Venice”, this vast natural landscape can be explored from the water by traditional boat or canoe, or by bicycle along its canals and meadows. It is a particularly peaceful place for a day away from the coast.

The Atlantic coastline and the islands of Aix, Ré and Oléron offer yet another change of scenery, with sandy beaches, oyster-farming harbours and some of the region's most distinctive coastal landscapes.
